EDWIN CASTILLO BLANCO
I am a Bilingual and Certified Local Tour Guide by the Instituto Costarricense de Turismo (Costa Rica Tourism Board) born and raised in Quepos and Manuel Antonio area, who passionately enjoys and share my love for nature, wildlife, volunteer, educational and conservation projects.
Since my childhood I have grown up surrounded by monkeys, birds, sloths, lizards and many more wild species, waterfalls and beaches just minutes away from my house, impressive huge trees which still usually give me a little of their shade to rest after a hard day of work, all these privileges has taught me to protect our natural resources as well as all those beautiful attractions which make Manuel Antonio a spectacular place for the thousands of people who visit us year after year to enjoy their holidays, and of course, wishing that future generations can enjoy what I have so far lived satisfactorily and which I hope to enjoy for many more years.
Come and make your visit unforgettable, YOU WILL LOVE IT !

KAREN CASTILLO BLANCO
My name is Karen Castillo Blanco, I was born in San Isidro de El General in San José and I have been living in Quepos almost my entire life, I would like to tell you how I ended up being one of the few women who work as naturalist guides in the area of Manuel Antonio.
The first time I visited Manuel Antonio National Park happened when I was 12 years old (it was an educational trip coordinated by my sixth grade school teacher), I still remember that the forest was so dense that I could not find the intersection to go to the Manuel Antonio beach and we ended up walking the whole trail of Punta Catedral to get to the beach one hour later as it was planned, nowadays that intersection is SUPER easy to see so there is no way to get lost.
In 2004 after I finished high school, one of my former teachers contacted me and told me "hey Karen I have a job for you, there is a Tourist Guide Association looking for a person to help them with the collection of money, and I´ve definitely recommended you with them"
I need to be honest... I had so many emotions when I looked for the administrator of this association, because I was just 20 years old and did not have much experience in my life.
Thanks to the opportunity that group of guides offered me, I started to get related to this business as nature interpreter, first as a person collecting the income for the tours, but then I saw how I fall in love of this job and three years later (July 17, 2007) I started to work as a naturalist guide in a world full of information, training and passion. For me it is an honor to share and interpret the beauty of an area like Manuel Antonio with all the visitors that come to this place.
The passion I feel for this National Park motivates me to participate in conservation projects, provide environmental education to schools and participate in volunteer programs. I can say that despite this job being mostly dominated by men, I have managed to earn the admiration and respect of my colleagues in a world full of competition thanks to the respect and cooperation I have given to each of them.
My way of life is very simple God occupies the first place in my heart, my family the second and my work the third. My greatest motivation to help those who need it.
So, if you like my story and want to be part of it, it will be a pleasure for me to be your tour guide in Manuel Antonio National Park
Welcome to Manuel Antonio, Pura Vida!!!
Kind regards,
Karen Castillo Blanco
